Parenting Goals

Goals are one thing that I often hear from clients as a new year begins. For adults, those goals usually include new ways to parent. If the clients are children, they usually show up to counseling with some goals their parents have for them.

Most of the family goals that are brought up in counseling are good ones (get better grades, keep the house clean, be kind, don’t hurt people). From a Christian counseling perspective, I like to encourage goals that help families know God better and live out His plan for their lives.
